Increase in the minimum wage

| News

The minimum wage will rise to $23.15 per hour from 1 April 2024.  This is an increase of 45 cents an hour from the current hourly rate of $22.70.

The ACC earner levy will also increase on 1 April 2024 from $1.53 per $100 to $1.60 per $100.  This increases the PAYE deductions from your employee’s wages.

If you manually calculate PAYE on your staff wages, this is the time to confirm the new PAYE amounts using IRD’s online PAYE calculator.

The living wage increased on 1 September 2023 and now sits at $26.00 per hour.
