As part of our commitment to maintaining compliance with New Zealand’s Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act), we are required to verify the identity and address of every client - whether an individual, company, trust, or partnership - and any associated parties.
The legislation was introduced to help detect and prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism in New Zealand, and it places obligations on a wide range of businesses, including accountancy practices such as ours; and these requirements are not optional.
